Our Journey
Janaki Imports embarked on its journey as a home business in the picturesque Piedmont region of Italy, driven by a deep appreciation for the exquisite craftsmanship of Indian handcrafted items. In 2007, we officially established ourselves as a Florida-based company with a resolute mission – to bring the beauty of Indian artistry to the Western world.
Our humble beginnings saw us engaging with customers through home parties, weekend markets, trade shows, and devotional events. It wasn’t long before our passion found a home at the International Bazaar in Ybor City, Tampa, Florida. In 2008, we took a giant leap forward by launching our website, making these treasures accessible to a global audience.

OUR TEAM
Meet the Founders
Janaki Imports was founded by devotee Kalyani Gauranga Dasi, a Reiki master, yoga teacher, and a Krishna devotee herself. Kalyani initiated the journey in Italy, where she introduced her clients to the richness of Indian culture – from healing stones to clothing and home decor. In Florida, her legacy was continued by her daughter, Francesca. Both Kalyani and Francesca have been deeply immersed in Indian culture, yoga, and spiritual practices since the 90s. Kalyani, in particular, has resided in India since 2005 and travels extensively for classes and events.

Our Diverse Range
Our inventory is a kaleidoscope of Indian culture, offering something for everyone. From Indian clothing for men, women, and children – sarees, kurtas, yoga pants, kurtis, and more – to an array of home decor items like wall hangings, thangkas, pillow covers, rugs, and beaded tablecloths. Our jewelry collection features rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces adorned with genuine stones from Pune, India. We also provide devotional items such as aarti and temple essentials, along with exquisite custom-made deity dresses.
